DEBRA HAYWARD CPA, CGA

Principal

With over 30 years of financial and accounting experience, Debra brings an exceptional level of financial and taxation aptitude that has played an integral role in supporting many clients in a variety of industries. Debra is highly respected among her peers and is renowned for her dedication to building long-lasting relationships with her clients through knowledge, trust and results.

Debra started her career with Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG) as a member of the firm’s audit team working with major national clients. She then applied her skills and focused on accounting and tax services to owner-operated businesses for over five years, fueling her passion for supporting small business.

In 1978, Debra became Chief Financial Officer of Wray and Nephew Canada Limited, an international rum company, and successfully managed all financial aspects of the business until it was acquired by an Italian conglomerate in 2012.

In addition to her time with Wray and Nephew Canada Limited, Debra returned to public practice in 1988 at a small chartered accounting firm and in 2013, incorporated DAVIES HAYWARD specializing in corporate and personal tax planning, estate planning, US taxation, HST Taxation and CRA negotiations. Dedicated to providing clients with quality service, Debra and her team of tax specialists pride themselves on their professionalism and the breadth of experience they offer.

Outside of the office, Debra enjoys a variety of hobbies and has served as a board member for the Silver Blades Skating Club, the Board of Trade Curling Club, as well as president of the Pine Point Figure Skating Club. She continues to volunteer her time by working with the elderly, but her favourite pastime is spending time with her four beautiful granddaughters.
